- "body": "[{\"type\": \"paragraph\", \"value\": \"<p>The <strong><em>Space Director</em></strong> of the EUS is the\\r\\nguiding hand behind the design of the various <a href=\\\"spaces\\\"\\r\\nclass=\\\"wikilink\\\" title=\\\"spaces\\\">spaces</a> operated by the EUS. The role\\r\\nwas created in 2016 to oversee the sustainability and usage of our\\r\\nspace. Previously the <a href=\\\"space_manager\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\"\\r\\ntitle=\\\"space manager\\\">space manager</a> was charged with the upkeep of\\r\\nthe rooms, but there was not a dedicated position to developing.</p>\\r\\n<h2 id=\\\"previous_projects\\\">Previous Projects</h2>\\r\\n<h3 id=\\\"clubs_hub\\\"><a href=\\\"Clubs_Hub\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\"\\r\\ntitle=\\\"Clubs Hub\\\">Clubs Hub</a></h3>\\r\\n<p><a href=\\\"Council:2017-01-24\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\"\\r\\ntitle=\\\"January 24, 2017\\\">January 24, 2017</a>, Jay Han proposed a <a\\r\\nhref=\\\"capital_request\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\" title=\\\"capital request\\\">capital\\r\\nrequest</a> to the <a href=\\\"EUS_Council\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\"\\r\\ntitle=\\\"EUS Council\\\">EUS Council</a> that essentially reorganized the\\r\\nentire <a href=\\\"Clubs_Hub\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\" title=\\\"Clubs Hub\\\">Clubs\\r\\nHub</a>. The space was previously cluttered, inefficient use of space,\\r\\nwithout enough storage, and more. The proposed redesign included the\\r\\ncreation of central work/conference space, lockers for each group's\\r\\nstorage (secured) and for shared supplies (unsecured), a wall mounted\\r\\nTV, and all around new furniture.</p>\\r\\n<p><tab name=\\\"Presentation to Council\\\" collapsed> <pdf><a\\r\\nhref=\\\"File:ClubsHub_w17.pdf\\\">File:ClubsHub_w17.pdf</a></pdf> </tab></p>\\r\\n<p>Unfortunately once all the purchases were made, it came to light in\\r\\nMarch of the same year that McGill was going to be installing an\\r\\nelevator in the <a href=\\\"McConnell_Engineering_Building\\\"\\r\\nclass=\\\"wikilink\\\" title=\\\"McConnell Lobby\\\">McConnell Lobby</a> to make the\\r\\nEngCaf accessible. This drastically shifted the space made available in\\r\\nClubs Hub, and the project was therefore never fully realized.</p>\\r\\n<h3 id=\\\"common_room\\\"><a href=\\\"Common_Room\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\"\\r\\ntitle=\\\"Common Room\\\">Common Room</a></h3>\\r\\n<p>The EUS Common Room has always had big plans for it. Beginning at the\\r\\nend of the 2018 Winter Semester, Jay Han, alongside member of the <a\\r\\nhref=\\\"BoG\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\" title=\\\"board\\\">board</a> Arman Izadi,\\r\\ncollaborated to revamp the EUS Common Room. Previous attempts were made\\r\\nat buying chairs, installing a chalk wall, and LEDs to hype the space,\\r\\nto no avail. Han &amp; Izadi focused on making it a space useful outside\\r\\nthe weekly <a href=\\\"Blues_Pub\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\" title=\\\"Blues Pub\\\">Blues\\r\\nPub</a>; comfortable for hanging out yet conducive to studying.</p>\\r\\n<p>The full plan was to create a paint job for the space, invest in new\\r\\nfurniture and layout, and make the AV equipment and electricity more\\r\\naccessible.\\r\\n<tab name=\\\"Preliminary Presentation to Council\\\" collapsed><pdf><a\\r\\nhref=\\\"File:CommonRoom_w18.pdf\\\">File:CommonRoom_w18.pdf</a></pdf></tab>\\r\\nWhile some of the furniture was altered during the design process\\r\\n(prices fluctuated), the plan was executed by the start of the Fall 2018\\r\\nsemester.
