This\\r <strong><em>does not</em></strong> change your account name associated\\r with Google, simply the display name people receive when you send them\\r an email.</p>\\r <h2 id=\\\"the_fickle_contact_cache\\\">The Fickle Contact Cache</h2>\\r <p><img src=\\\"Fickle-cache.png\\\" title=\\\"Fickle-cache.png\\\" width=\\\"300\\\"\\r alt=\\\"Fickle-cache.png\\\" /> If you've followed all the above methods, it's\\r possible you've fallen prey to the cache. There's one dramatically\\r unfortunate aspect of most email clients: when you first receive an\\r email from somebody new, your email client will cache the name and email\\r as a new contact. That contact name is persistent, no matter what the\\r name associated with the email address may be in the future. Individuals\\r must deleted this cached contact for a new one to be associated. For\\r example, the wiki.curator email address first received an email from\\r Malcolm McClintock as VP Communications. It cached the name to a new\\r contact, future Alex be damned.</p>\\r <p>Unless the owner of the wiki.curator account navigates to <a\\r href=\\\"http://contacts.google.com\\\">http://contacts.google.com</a> and\\r deletes it, unfortunately it will persist.
