It is meant to be\\r a sustainable resource for <em>general improvements of the undergraduate\\r space at McGill</em> as well as <em>to fund larger renovations\\r projects</em>.</p>\\n<p>The fund is separate in two accounts: the Short Term and Long Term\\r (Capital) accounts. The Short Term account, available once a semester,\\r is intended for purchase of single items and the Long Term account,\\r available all year 'round, is aimed at significant projects and\\r renovations. Generally Short Term applications are for less than $2 000\\r while Long Term applications tend to be for more than $2 000.</p>\\r <h2 id=\\\"allocation\\\">Allocation</h2>\\r <h3 id=\\\"short_term\\\">Short Term</h3>\\r <p>The Short Term account is allocated twice a year through an\\r application process sent out by the <a href=\\\"Funds_Director\\\">Funds Director</a>, usually\\r around October for the Fall Semester and February for the Winter\\r Semester. The email will contain a link to apply where you are expected\\r to submit a description of each item you need, the amount you are\\r requesting for that item, quotes for each item, and a budget outlining\\r everything you requested. You should provide multiple quotes per item\\r (show you did your research!) and make sure your budget reflects any\\r tax/shipping fees!</p>\\r <h3 id=\\\"long_term\\\">Long Term</h3>\\r <p>The Long Term (capital) account is available at any point in the\\r year. It is approved through any regular meeting of the <a href=\\\"Board_of_Governors\\\">Board of Governors</a>. Applications for this\\r fund are in the form of a motion that you must submit 5 days before a\\r board meeting - for additional information on how to do this you can\\r email the <a href=\\\"mailto:board.chair@mcgilleus.ca\\\">board chair</a>.\\r Similarly to the short term application, a capital request motion should\\r contain descriptions/quotes/budgets for each item. For these larger\\r requests it\\u2019s especially important for multiple quotes to be shown and\\r the budget be thorough. Feel free to layout multiple budget options if\\r there is leeway in the request.</p>\\r <h4 id=\\\"application_example\\\">Application Example</h4>\\r <p>For an example application to SSF, a package can be found <a\\r href=\\\"https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ZQakgz_1g03IcSr03O7lULRCMABNk6oK?usp=share_link%7Chere\\\">1</a>.</p>\\r <h2 id=\\\"composition\\\">Composition</h2>\\r <p>Each semester, students contribute $15.00 (full-time students, >9\\r credits) and $7.50 (part-time students, =< 9 credits) to the Student\\r Space Fund.
