The CMEUS is the undergraduate society for all\\r\\nmining students, regardless of whether or not they have elected to\\r\\nmaintain their co-op degree status.</p>\\r\\n<h2 id=\\\"events\\\">Events</h2>\\r\\n<p>The CMEUS is a student-led Society responsible for organizing events\\r\\nand fun opportunities for involvement throughout each academic semester.\\r\\nThese events vary greatly, from an active full-day ice fishing trip to a\\r\\nrelaxing games night in collaboration with other departmental councils.\\r\\nCertain initiatives, such as industry speaker talks at McGill University\\r\\nand the organization of an annual trip to The Prospectors and Developers\\r\\nAssociation of Canada (PDAC) Conference in Toronto, offer mining\\r\\nengineering students at McGill diverse opportunities to gain insight on\\r\\ninteresting topics and additionally network with industry\\r\\nprofessionals.</p>\\r\\n<h3 id=\\\"banquet\\\">Banquet</h3>\\r\\n<p>Each Fall & Winter semester, CMEUS organizes a banquet for its\\r\\nstudents to relax after a (hopefully) successful semester! After the\\r\\ndinner, we all gather for an EUS-wide afterparty at a local club. The\\r\\nprofessors are invited to the Fall Banquet, so it is a great opportunity\\r\\nfor getting to know them outside of the classroom.</p>\\r\\n<h3 id=\\\"e_week\\\">E-Week</h3>\\r\\n<p>WE DRILL. The purpose of\\r\\nthis meeting is to discuss any comments, suggestions, or feedback the\\r\\nstudents might have regarding any of the MIME courses they may have\\r\\ntaken.</p>\\r\\n<h3 id=\\\"mintalk\\\">MinTalk</h3>\\r\\n<p>Each fall & Winter semester, the CMEUS VP-Academic is in charge\\r\\nof organizing a symposium with students and industry leaders. The\\r\\nobjective of this symposium is to introduce students to the mining\\r\\nindustry and share the experience each individual has had. If interested\\r\\nin participating, please contact cmeus.vpexternal@mcgilleus.ca.</p>\\r\\n<h2 id=\\\"the_canadian_mining_games\\\">The Canadian Mining Games</h2>\\r\\n<figure>\\r\\n<img src=\\\"Mattspp.jpg\\\"\\r\\ntitle=\\\"Candian Mining Games 2020 McGill Delegation\\\" />\\r\\n<figcaption>Candian Mining Games 2020 McGill Delegation</figcaption>\\r\\n</figure>\\r\\n<p>The Canadian Mining Games (CMG) were established at McGill University\\r\\nin 1991, and each year the event is hosted by a mining engineering\\r\\nprogram somewhere in Canada. The Canadian Mining Games were created\\r\\nbetween a collaboration of a McGill mining engineering student and a\\r\\nmining engineering student from Polytechnique Montr\\u00e9al.</p>\\r\\n<p>McGill Mining sends a delegation of 16 mining students to the\\r\\ncompetition each year to represent the program. At CMG, our team\\r\\ncompetes against universities from across Canada in various competitions\\r\\nto showcase our skills in academic and physical events. CMG also offers\\r\\na great opportunity to network with various professionals and companies\\r\\nwithin the mining industry</p>\\r\\n<p>The CMG McGill Delegation is open to any undergraduate student\\r\\nstudying Mining Engineering. If you're interested in participating, the\\r\\ndepartment sends out an email every September. Once you express\\r\\ninterest, try-outs will occur to finalize the roster of 16!</p>\\r\\n<h2 id=\\\"the_lounge\\\">The Lounge</h2>\\r\\n<p>All undergraduate mining engineering students can obtain access to\\r\\nour lounge - conveniently located at Frank Dawson Adams (FDA) 103. To\\r\\ngain access, a sign-up sheet is available to put down your information\\r\\non both Facebook and Instagram, or you can contact any of the council\\r\\nmembers!</p>\\r\\n<p>In the lounge, we have couches and a TV to relax, big tables and\\r\\nchairs for studying, and a fridge & microwave for all your\\r\\nlunch-storing needs. It's a great place to study, hang out with friends\\r\\nand a solid location to gather on Fridays before Blues Pub! The Canadian Mining Games were created\\r\\nbetween a collaboration of a McGill mining engineering student and a\\r\\nmining engineering student from Polytechnique Montr\\u00e9al.</p>\\r\\n<p>McGill Mining sends a delegation of 16 mining students to the\\r\\ncompetition each year to represent the program. At CMG, our team\\r\\ncompetes against universities from across Canada in various competitions\\r\\nto showcase our skills in academic and physical events. CMG also offers\\r\\na great opportunity to network with various professionals and companies\\r\\nwithin the mining industry</p>\\r\\n<p>The CMG McGill Delegation is open to any undergraduate student\\r\\nstudying Mining Engineering. If you're interested in participating, the\\r\\ndepartment sends out an email every September. Once you express\\r\\ninterest, try-outs will occur to finalize the roster of 16!</p>\\r\\n<h2 id=\\\"the_lounge\\\">The Lounge</h2>\\r\\n<p>All undergraduate mining engineering students can obtain access to\\r\\nour lounge - conveniently located at Frank Dawson Adams (FDA) 103. To\\r\\ngain access, a sign-up sheet is available to put down your information\\r\\non both Facebook and Instagram, or you can contact any of the council\\r\\nmembers!</p>\\r\\n<p>In the lounge, we have couches and a TV to relax, big tables and\\r\\nchairs for studying, and a fridge & microwave for all your\\r\\nlunch-storing needs. It's a great place to study, hang out with friends\\r\\nand a solid location to gather on Fridays before Blues Pub!
