Upcoming fair

Fall 2026 TechFair is September 30 & October 1, 2026, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at Centre Mont-Royal (2200 Rue Mansfield). Students do not need to register — bring a McGill ID. Details and the current committee roster are on the Engineering Career Centre TechFair page.

TechFair (the McGill University Engineering and Technology Career Fair) is the annual career fair for Engineering, Computer Science, and Physical Sciences students. It is not the same event as TechWeek, which is a week of talks and workshops that usually happens earlier in the winter.

TechFair started in 2000. It is organized jointly by the Engineering Career Centre (ECC), the EUS TechFair Committee, and the Computer Science Undergraduate Society (CSUS). The EUS committee is an organizing committee under the VP Academic.

What it is

Employers table on the fair floor so students and recent graduates can talk about internships, full-time roles, and what those industries actually hire for. Typical reasons people go:

  • Meet employers and get a sense of the room
  • Ask about roles, skills, and how hiring actually works
  • Practice talking about your work before interviews

The fair is free and open to current McGill students and alumni. In-person attendees need a McGill ID. Although most employers are hiring engineers, computer scientists, and physical scientists, other McGill students are usually welcome.

The TechFair Committee

The student committee runs logistics with the ECC: volunteers, communications, operations, and liaison with CSUS. Applications typically go out through the EUS hiring pipeline in the winter/spring for the following year. Volunteer shifts are recruited closer to the fair — watch the ECC page and EUS listservs.
