Every\\r student in an Undergraduate Engineering program and taking nine credits\\r or more, contributes <a href=\\\"Student_Fees\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\"\\r title=\\\"fifty dollars per semester\\\"><em>fifty dollars per\\r semester</em></a> to the Engineering Undergraduate Equipment Fund. If\\r you are taking less than nine credits, you pay half the amount per\\r semester.</p>\\r <p>The allocation of the funds are as follows:</p>\\r <p>:*Thirty-five thousand dollars shall be allotted to a Faculty\\r Fund</p>\\r <p>:*Five thousand dollars shall be allotted to each of the\\r departments</p>\\r <p>:*An appropriate amount shall be set aside for the purchase of\\r identification plaques or Stickers.</p>\\r <p>:*The net amount remaining is allotted to each department\\r proportional to the <a href=\\\"Departmental_Statistics\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\"\\r title=\\\"total number of students in that department\\\">total number of\\r students in that department</a> with respect to the faculty of\\r engineering</p>\\r <p>In the event of a <strong>surplus</strong> less than 10% of the\\r departmental allotment, it shall be carried forward into the\\r department's allotment for the following year. Otherwise the surplus\\r shall be redistributed among all departments.</p>\\r <h2 id=\\\"equipment_fund_committee\\\">Equipment Fund Committee</h2>\\r <p>The <strong><em>Equipment Fund Committee (EFC\\u200b)</em></strong> is a\\r committee of the EUS that is tasked with administering the Equipment\\r Fund. The EFC shall meet on a date set by the EUS VP Academic, generally\\r once a year.</p>\\r <h3 id=\\\"voting_procedure\\\">Voting Procedure</h3>\\r <ul>\\r <li><a href=\\\"EFC#Membership\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\" title=\\\"Each member\\\">Each\\r member</a> of the EFC has one vote.</li>\\r <li>A two-thirds majority is required for a departmental proposal to\\r pass, otherwise the proposal is rejected for the current year.</li>\\r <li>A unanimous vote is required for a <em>Faculty proposal</em> to\\r pass, otherwise the proposal is rejected for the current year.</li>\\r <li>Rejected proposals may be submitted again, with or without\\r modifications, in subsequent allocations.</li>\\r </ul>\\r <h3 id=\\\"membership\\\">Membership</h3>\\r <p>The EFC is composed of twenty-seven members, from student\\r departmental representatives to the Chairpeople of the various\\r departments. Quorum consists of twelve members of the EFC, provided the\\r Dean, one student representative from each of the departments, and the\\r <a href=\\\"VP_Academic\\\" class=\\\"wikilink\\\"\\r title=\\\"Vice President Academic of the EUS\\\">Vice President Academic of\\r the EUS</a>, are <strong>all in attendance</strong>.</p>\\r <p><em>Proposals from a department may only be voted on if that\\r department\\u2019s chairperson is present.</em></p>\\r <p><em>Proposals for the Faculty purchases may only be voted on if the\\r Faculty student representative is present.</em></p>\\r <p>The makeup of the committee is as follows: <strong>Student\\r Reps:</strong></p>\\r <p>:*The Vice President Academic of the EUS <em>(who presides as the\\r chair of EFC)</em></p>\\r <p>:*The President from each department</p>\\r <p>:*The VP Academic from each department</p>\\r <p>:*One student representative to deal with proposals for the whole\\r Faculty of Engineering <strong>Faculty Reps:</strong></p>\\r <p>:*The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering</p>\\r <p>:*The Chairperson of the Department of Bioengineering.</p>\\r <p>:*The Chairperson of the Department of Chemical Engineering.</p>\\r <p>:*The Chairperson of the Department of Civil Engineering.</p>\\r <p>:*The Chairperson of the Department of Electrical and Computer\\r Engineering.</p>\\r <p>:*The Chairperson of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.</p>\\r <p>:*The Chairperson of the Department of Mining and Materials\\r Engineering.</p>\\r <p>:*The Director of Mining Engineering.</p>\\r <p>:*The Chairperson of the School of Architecture. </p>\\r <h3 id=\\\"departments\\\">Departments</h3>\\r <p>Only departments recognized in the <a\\r href=\\\"Equipment_Fund_Bylaws#Article_3:_Members_of_the_Committee\\\"\\r class=\\\"wikilink\\\" title=\\\"Equipment Fund Bylaws\\\">Equipment Fund Bylaws</a>\\r are eligible to apply (in addition to the Faculty of Engineering as a\\r whole).
