Connected with the <a href=\\\"Frank_Dawson_Adams_Building\\\"\\r\\nclass=\\\"wikilink\\\" title=\\\"Frank Dawson Adams Building\\\">Frank Dawson Adams\\r\\nBuilding</a>, it is no stranger to late night cram sessions and friendly\\r\\ngroups studies.</p>\\r\\n<h2 id=\\\"history\\\">History</h2>\\r\\n<p>Named after the family of Seymour Schulich, he generously donated\\r\\nfunds to several schools across Canada, including McGill (which houses\\r\\nthis library and the Schulich School of Music in his honour), to help\\r\\npromote education. The library was built in in 1893 where it started out\\r\\nas the MacDonald Physics Building. It was in this building where Ernest\\r\\nRutherford conducted his Nobel Prize winning research (1908) for his\\r\\ninvestigation in the disintegration of elements and radioactive\\r\\nsubstances.</p>\\r\\n<h2 id=\\\"about\\\">About</h2>\\r\\n<p>There are 6 floors located in the library, and, on each floor, there\\r\\nare many computers that are free to use whenever you don't have access\\r\\nto a personal computer; just bring you McGill e-mail and password, and\\r\\nyou're all set! Individual study areas are available for quiet study,\\r\\nand there is also a dedicated group study spaces for collaborative work\\r\\nlocated on the fifth floor. And if you're worried about running out of\\r\\nbattery, don't worry! Hundreds of electrical outlets can be found on\\r\\nmany of the desks located in the library.</p>\\r\\n<h2 id=\\\"library_services\\\">Library Services</h2>\\r\\n<p>Along with holding a wide variety of text that are accessible and\\r\\nFREE to all students, the library is also home to Spirit Book Scanners,\\r\\nwhich are devices that can scan book pages which can be saved onto a USB\\r\\nif you only require certain pages of your desired book and is free of\\r\\ncharge! Furthermore, there is a machine that allows you to borrow books\\r\\nwithout the help of a librarian, so, if one is too busy to help you at\\r\\nany moment, there would be no worries! And while you're studying and\\r\\nwant to limit distractions (*cough* *cough* your phone), the library\\r\\nhave stations on each floor where you can charge your phone and lock it\\r\\naway during your dedicated studying time.
