Academic Forum
The academic forum is a great place to voice your concerns about courses and suggest improvements. They happen at the end of each semester and are program specific. These academic forums are organized by the departmental VP Academics and they will be documenting your feedback and relaying it to the profs and academic advisors of their departments. Usually professors attend the academic forums as well. After the academic forum, an academic report is drafted by the departmental VP academic and submitted to both their department, and the VP academic of the EUS.
Structure
The structure of most departmental academic forums are fairly similar. They are broken down into the following sections:
- Feedback on specific departmental core classes
- Feedback on classes taken in other department/faculties
- Feedback on the program and the curriculum
- Any other general issues
When & Where
Each department is in charge of organizing their own academic forums. Time and location vary every semester in order to adapt to the students’ schedules. The academic forums are usually advertised thorught the departmental social media (i.e. Facebook, newsletter, etc.). If you have any questions regarding the academic forum, feel free to contact your departmental VP academic. The students’ presence is absolutly crucial at these forums in order to improve the program as a whole.
