Board of Governors

The EUS is looking for to fill one member-at-large position on the Board of Governors. The Board of Governors is the entity legally responsible for the state of the Engineering Undergraduate Society; this includes, but is not limited to:

Validating bylaws and policies of the society
Final approval of all budgets
Holding the execs accountable
Direct oversight of EUS Committees with more than $50,000 in expenses (such as OAP, Frosh, etc.)

The duration of the term for the Member-at-Large will start on May 1st 2022, until April 30th, 2023. Please complete and submit this application (https://forms.gle/mVqHHPP13Wq5uAc88) by Tuesday, April 21st at 11:59 pm the latest! Selection will take place shortly after the interviews.

-The Board of Governors is the governance body maintaining the legal and financial framework of the EUS. The mandate of the Board of Governors includes reviewing EUS Bylaws and Policies, making impactful financial decisions, and undertaking projects which develop the EUS in the long term. Within the Board are 3 subcommittees:

-.) Institutional Health - Acts as a steering mechanism for the Board. Responsibilities include review of governance documents, addressing concerns brought by EUS Members or groups, and assessing the impacts of decisions, projects, and ongoing events of the EUS
+* Holding the execs accountable
-.) Special Projects - Execute projects of diverse scales in order to improve the EUS as a whole. Such projects may resemble those previously taken on by individual Board Members as mandates but will likely be larger in scale

-Alumni Member Responsibilities:
-- Attendance of general Board meetings which are generally every 3 weeks, on the weekends, and which last approximately 3 hours
-- Contribution to active board of Governors projects by providing supervision and guidance
-- OPTIONAL: - Attendance of weekly Board Subcommittee meetings in which you will be working on various projects
-Requirements:
-- Must be a graduate of McGill Engineering as of May 1, 2022
-- Applicants must demonstrate a good understanding of the EUS - ideally having relevant past experience
-The term of the position will start May 1st, 2022 and last until April 30th, 2023.
